Conservation Initiative gives an inspiring story about the vast ecological significance of the Eastern Himalayan region – a single connected ecosystem and the most densely populated biodiversity hotspot in the world.
Conservation International will host a panel discussion featuring highlights from The Great People’s Forest, one year from inception. Hear first-hand from project leaders about their joint vision to amplify the region’s status as an environmental and societal asset of global importance; see curated screenings of GPF’s newly launched storytelling campaign and hear from a new community of local storytellers – spanning languages and cultures – using their unique voice as stewards of the forests they call home. This panel session will culminate in a presentation of the path forward for The Great People’s Forest, complete with a call-to-action catalyzing urgent finance and support needed for the safeguarding of this critical region.
