Mountains to Mangroves: The power and potential of large-scale protection & restoration in the Eastern Himalayas

Conservation International and partners will host a panel discussion featuring highlights from ambitious reforestation work now underway across Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and northeast India. Hear first-hand from Mountains to Mangroves project leaders about their shared vision to amplify the region’s status as an environmental and societal asset of global importance; see curated screenings of the initiative’s newly launched storytelling campaign and hear from a new community of local storytellers – spanning languages and cultures – using their unique voices as stewards of the forests they call home. This panel session will culminate in a presentation of the path forward for Conservation International’s vital work supporting the Eastern Himalayas, complete with a call-to-action catalyzing urgent finance and support needed for the safeguarding of this critical region.
