Honoring the legacy of Dr. Lovejoy, a tireless advocate for nature and biodiversity, the Lovejoy Prize will recognize two exceptional individuals advancing breakthroughs in the conservation of the Amazon.
Dr Thomas Lovejoy’s work for nature shaped and inspired many institutions and individuals around the world. To honor his legacy, leading Amazon scientists and conservationists, along with AAF, CI, GEF, TNC, WCS and WWF have come together to establish the Lovejoy Prize. During the event, the prize will be awarded to two exceptional individuals that have dedicated their lives to conserving the Amazon with Indigenous communities, local communities and different ethnic groups, scientists and governments from across the region.This ceremony will be a moment to inspire optimism and reinforce the need for collaboration to secure a biodiverse planet in which nature and humans can thrive.
