Big Room
Sharing perspectives that emerged from inclusive multi-actor dialogues for advancing the understanding of the role of a human rights-based approach for biodiversity and climate action.
A multi-actor dialogue process was carried out to foster a shared vision for constructive engagement in biodiversity and climate policies and action, grounded in a human rights-based approach. This process capitalized on diverse views, knowledge systems, experience and practices of actors, spanning across Indigenous Peoples, local communities, youth, women, member states, non-governmental organisations, and research communities, in addressing biodiversity loss and climate change in a synergistic manner. The outcomes to be shared emerged from a collective thinking process, a whole of society approach, to re-center people and their reciprocal relationship with nature in climate and biodiversity policy and actions.
