Scaling Regenerative Agriculture in Brazil: a new asset class to make investment in resilience an asset

Big Room

A new way to turn investment in regenerative agriculture and supply chain resilience into a business asset. Discussing the case of Brazil. A session led by the Landbanking Group.

Native cocoa in Brazil is increasingly threatened by climate change and biodiversity loss, demonstrating the damage from conventional agriculture and the need for nature-friendly practices in supply chains. These necessary investments, along with new reporting requirements, increase the pressure on companies. ‘Nature Equity,’ our new asset class, offers a solution by making investments in supply chain resilience a corporate asset. Together with Belterra Agroforestry, a pioneer in sustainable agriculture and protecting native forests, and other stakeholders, we will demonstrate how companies can shift from ‘offsetting’ to ‘insetting,’ discuss regenerative agriculture in Brazil, and explore ways to incentivize this critical transition.
