Responsible Mining and Sustainable Use of Critical Energy Transition Minerals in the Three Tropical Forest Basins

Big Room

Meeting the rising global demand for critical minerals sustainably requires a concerted effort focused on several key strategies. Collaboration among multi-stakeholders is essential to establish secure and sustainable supply chains for these minerals. Event presented by the World Resources Institute (WRI).

This forum will:

  1. Share lessons: Sharing examples of how development and ecosystem conservation go hand in hand in the mining sector, and the benefits on livelihoods, building resilience and human development.
  2. Make a case for commercialization: Showcasing examples of bankable proposals for investment in nature action within the mining sector and offer guidance.
  3. Drive for wider adoption/engagement: Building upon the standards/framework and cases developed, call for wider adoption and engagement and plan for the next step.
