Small Room
Convening key stakeholders to reflect upon the guidance needed for businesses and financial sector to integrate and disclose nature in their transition plans, as well as the role that transition plans can play in progressing the GBF. Roundtable led by CDP.
Transition plans have thus far been predominantly climate centric. Yet initiatives including CDP, WWF, TNFD, GFANZ and Business for Nature have called out on the need to integrate nature into TPs. Such integration is essential for addressing the interconnected challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, and unsustainable resource use. Moreover, through disclosure, the data collected through these TPs could support the decision-making process to unlock finance for biodiversity, in line with targets 14, 18, and 19 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Under this backdrop, this roundtable aims to convene key setters of standards, frameworks, and guidance on transition planning and target-setting to discuss the role of nature in transition plans, and to reflect on the need for collaboration and alignment across initiatives to avoid fragmentation and confusion in the uptake of nature within transition plans.
