[Invite Only] Making Peace Between Food and Nature: Effective Approaches to Integrate Food Systems in NBSAPs

A workshop focused on exploring food-forward NBSAP, followed by an evening reception. This event will be co-hosted by the World Resources Institute and the Food and Land Use Coalition, with WWF, NDC Partnership and GAFF.
Agriculture is a key driver of biodiversity loss. However, few NBSAP support a holistic transformation of the food systems. The Alliance of Champions for Food Systems countries are leading the way in ensuring NBSAPs take food systems into account, supported by a number of civil society partners. In this session we will explore what food-forward NBSAP might entail and share the experience of countries in leveraging NBSAP to support the transformation. Civil society partners including WWF; GAFF and GAIN will share their approaches and assessments of effective NDCs. A panel will then follow to illustrate successful country-level attempts as discuss some of the challenges that arise with delivering a food systems transformation through NBSAPs. The workshop will be followed by a short reception with participants and friends to celebrate efforts at country level.
