Big Room
World Economic Forum presents an event focused on exploring the steps businesses, policymakers and financial institutions can take to shift to sustainably using and conserving water resources, in order to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030.
All life on Earth depends on the abundance, diversity, and health of our ecosystems. However, these invaluable resources are under increasing threat. Freshwater and soil ecosystems have the highest number of species at risk of extinction and exhibit some of the fastest rates of biodiversity loss.
There is an urgent need to shift to a model where actors sustainably use and conserve land, freshwater, and seawater resources, and contribute to the Biodiversity Plan’s target to restore 30% of all degraded terrestrial, inland water, marine, and coastal ecosystems by 2030 – aiming to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030 while nourishing all.
The biodiversity, water, and food nexus can be tackled collectively. Join this discussion to explore actions and cooperation across businesses, the public sector, civil society, and financial institutions to improve water stewardship across landscapes and conserve nature and biodiversity.
