Indigenous Pacific Island nature-based solutions for biodiversity, resilience and wellbeing

Big Room

Join us for a high-level celebration of the locally and indigenous-driven achievements of Pacific Island countries and communities to address biodiversity loss and climate change.

The impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss on Pacific Island communities, cultures, and economies cannot be addressed separately and require urgent and holistic responses.
This talanoa between Pacific Island Leaders, negotiators, donors and conservation practitioners will highlight how approaches to working with nature grounded in understandings of local, Indigenous cultures, knowledges and values contribute to community wellbeing and resilience.
The event will also discuss pathways to scale up the implementation of rights-based, gender responsive and socially inclusive Pacific Islands Nature-based Solutions.
