Data availability: the key to practical reporting

This NPI session will focus on ensuring state of nature metrics draw on practical and accessible data to enable universal reporting for corporates and financial institutions, and how they can draw on this data for monitoring and reporting impacts on the state of nature.
Data availability is often cited as a major challenge for monitoring positive and negative impacts on nature. But while there is undoubtedly progress still to be made, we need to make effective use of the multitude of available sources already out there and in particular highly accessible sources. In this session, we will showcase the feasibility, affordability and applicability of tools currently available, as well as touching on the remaining challenges.
