Small Room
WEF presents this session being hosted under Chatham-house rules to discuss the barriers for policy coherence and set a collective action path for public-private cooperation on KMGBF implementation. The session will cover issues of policy instruments for economic transition, limits to extractive growth model and repurposing incentives towards sustainable resource management.
Implementing the KMGBF and other multilateral policies requires commitment, resources, innovations and smart policies and regulations that are coherent and effective. Leaders of business, governments, international organizations and civil society are invited to elaborate ways for how the international community and in particular the Parties to the CBD can strengthen the policy and regulatory aspect of KMGBF implementation. This will be important at global level, but also at national level, in short, medium and long term. The dialogue will result in recommendations on how to strengthen the discussion about the role of policies and regulations in the global biodiversity context.
